Use Council’s booking page to check current hard waste and mattress collection options, property eligibility and accepted items. This finder helps you choose a service; our hard rubbish disposal guide explains the wider disposal options.
Rubbish left on public land, roadsides or nature strips can be reported through Council’s litter and dumped rubbish form. Give the location and describe what has been left there on the official form.
For potholes, damaged road surfaces or road-edge problems, use Council’s road issue form. The official page is the place to provide the location and check whether Council is the right authority.
Use Council’s tree form for a problem with a street tree or a tree on public land. Branches already cut on private property are a different issue; see our green waste removal guide for removal options.
Council’s graffiti page explains how to report graffiti and which details to provide. The location and type of property help identify the appropriate reporting pathway.
Use the street sweeping request form for street or gutter cleaning issues such as leaves and debris. Report dumped items through the dumped rubbish service instead.
For a dead animal on public land, use Council’s reporting form and provide its location. The finder routes you to the relevant service; it does not lodge a report for you.

Cracked or uneven footpaths and shared paths can be reported using Council’s path issue form. Include the location and describe the surface problem on the official page.
Illegal parking and abandoned vehicles have separate Council reporting forms. Choose the form that matches the issue rather than using a rubbish collection request.

Council is usually the right starting point for public assets, kerbside-bin problems, dumped rubbish on public land and eligible booked collections. Private removal can be more suitable when the rubbish is on your property, you need lifting and loading, the job is outside Council collection rules, or you want the material gone sooner.
Examples include missed bins, potholes, damaged footpaths, public trees, graffiti, public bins and dumped rubbish on public land. The finder links directly to the relevant City of Greater Geelong service.
For furniture, household junk, cardboard, already-cut branches, garage or shed clean-outs and other rubbish on private property, see our junk removal services or request a quote.
If branches are already cut and you need them taken away, see our green waste removal guide. If branches are still attached to a private tree, a pruning or arborist service may be needed first.
